Q-tip tip.
« on: July 25, 2016, 07:14:07 PM »
Just something I figured out that helps me clean the nipple cups on cylinders. Regular Q-tips are ok but they are not very strong and they tend to bend if you put any kind of pressure on them. I take a Q-tip and cut it in half at an angle so it has a point on the not fluffy end. Then stick the pointed end in the tip of an appropriately sized pen casing so that only the fluffy part of the Q-tip is sticking out. I have found this give much more strength to the Q-tip and allows you to really dig out the hard fouling that builds up in the nipple cups.

That's a great idea that I will have to try. Right now, I am using an old toothbrush to scrub out small areas.

Yes, I have some of those wooden stemmed Q-tips. I use them mostly in deeper holes.
