This & That
« on: August 21, 2013, 08:43:55 PM »
Here is a pic of some of my 'possibles': my adjustable powder measure, straight-line capper, and short starter (for use in my muzzleloading rifle and pistol). The inline capper is a real PITA to use; it gets so frustrating trying to get caps right-side-up in this thing that I usually give up and use my fingers.

I have exactly the same stuff in my bag, same powder measure and short starter.  Cappers, I have in-line, tear drop and snail shapes, they're more trouble then they're worth for revolvers, I finally ended up using my fingers.  With a push stick.

I  use my straight capper all the time two tricks I found one is to put the caps into it by pushing them up from underneath with your fingertip or sitting the cap on something and placing the hole in the capper over it and the other is put the hammer at half cock and cap in the hammer channel not on the right side where your supposed to

You're right, and in the time I took to read that (I'm a slow reader) I had the caps stuck on with my fingers.
