Say...don't you chuckleheads know an 'anteek' when you see one? Why, that one is SUPER rare, being one of the few Colt prototypes in existence with a brass frame, original 'sheriff version' short barrel and loading lever, and the prototype for the rebated water table cut/.44 cal cylinder upgrade. Hell; with an 1843 manufacture date that one be the granddaddy of the 1851 AND the Walker! Don't you fellers know nuffin'? Hell, that one gots ta be worth at least half a mil an' he's only asking $795 bucks BIN!
Geez...I'm gonna bid on it 'fore it gets away! (7+" (7+" (7+" (7+" (7+" (7+"

Before I started this thread I contacted the seller about everything all of you pointed out but I have yet to hear from him.

Wonder why?

Seems to make a point of mentioning that he doesn't know much about revolvers. To me that is suspicious, almost like he's preparing an answer for when the buyer finds out it's not real. He's also got an "original" Remington revolving rifle.

It's really great that you guys point out this kind of stuff. I would have been dumb enough to buy it(if I had the money).  :-[

It's pretty obviously blatant fraud, as was mentioned. And if caught in his BS, he will probably claim ignorance. I'm sure the Pietta markings were very thoroughly removed, but if you're gonna do a forgery, why not start with something somewhat HC? Anyone who knows even a smidgen about the Colt history could find Waldo in this picture.

i sent him an email last night and this is his response:

Thanks for your help,  Almost all of my firearms come from firearm auctions through local, and proxybid, and other sites.  I stumbled on this one at a small antique store where I was given the history of this piece. I wondered why there were punch marks. I ended the auction and I will keep this as my $500 mistake.
