Conversions / my 1860 conversion
« on: June 23, 2015, 11:28:50 AM »
well ive had a few bp revolvers but i always wanted a conversion colt.i had a friend who had bought the kirst conversion cylinder for his 60 but decided he didnt want to cut his frame so i took it off his hands.so the conversion began with a simple check of the cylinder in my gun i quickly found that my gun wouldnt cock with the conversion cylinder. i had to change out the hand and cylinder bolt these changes got the gun to function. now it was time to cut the frame. i used a dremel and a rat tail file. i used the file to make preliminary cut for the dremel it took 2 hours to cut the loading port.the gun shoots both 45 colt and schofield equally well. the only part left i need to complete the conversion is the ejector assembly.
