Hi, this message board says there is a limit on the bytes of a .jpg that can be directly loaded. If the photo is larger, will the message board reduced the number of .jpg bytes so it can be directly loaded? Can the size limit be increased?

I use PhotoBucket, but find it a pita to use, a resource hog and is as slow as hell.

Regards,
Richard

If the photo is too big it just won't upload at all.   I'm sure the limit could be increase but it would probably cost too much to have the server space needed.   That's why we're forced to use PhotoBucket and other imaging hosting to get good pics on here.

Hi Kirk, no, ~250KP iisn't large enough. I use an old 2MP camera to take photos of my gun stuff. To reduce the number of photo pixels I would need to use AstroArt, a two step process after downloading the photos to a computer. While slow, PhotoBucket does that pixel size reduction automatically.

Rather than argue and being defensive, does this message board software allow auto reduction of pixel size photos?

Richard

Neither one. I was being a smartass... ;) Sorry...old habits are hard to break. 8)
To answer your question...I don't believe the software package we have will allow for auto reduction. I will look into it further and/or run it by Smokey.
