Title: What's on your wish list for 2019?
Post by: ssb73q on April 13, 2019, 09:51:40 AM
Hi, tell us what is on your wish list for 2019?

I want to buy a couple of more Pietta Paterson cylinders. I also wish other members would post more.

Regards,
Richard

I just acquired my No 1 wishlist gun. Actually, I got a pair of them. 72' Open Tops in .45 Colt caliber. I won't have them for a couple weeks, due to the ridiculous California waiting period. But they are mine. Can't wait to have them in hand!

And I'm with you Richard, seems pretty dead around here lately. Hoping it will pick up as the weather warms and people start shooting again. Until then, I'll just keep checking in daily and contributing when I can.

I dunno. Just put a deposit on a Santa Barbara that I had no intention on buying, right after I paid off the Yellow Boy I had no intention of buying. We'll see which way the wind blows. I'm thinking a Colt '73 Army repro in .44-40 might grab my attention if I stumbled across one at the right price, since I'm gonna be loading for that cartridge now.

I have the guns so at this point Iíd settle for a pound of Swiss 3f.  Canít find any real black of any kind anywhere around here.  Plenty of subs, though.  Here in CA Nonbinary Elder Sibling limits us to one pound of black or sub (yea, Iím a criminal  ::)).  Need to call Graf & Sons to see if they will send a four pound lot out here.

G Dog, I believe it's one pound of black and four pounds of subs in California.

G Dog, I just got a 4lb shipment of Goex from Graf the other day. You should be good to go.

Mostly I want to get my Winchester 1894 .38-55 into good shooting condition. Get the headspace issue fixed and then see if I can find a good load for it. Interestingly Uberti just released a repro of the 1894. It comes in both rifle and carbine configurations and it's available in .30-30 and .38-55.

Just an aside, most original '94's had blued recievers but I have a James Julia auction catalog the shows a high condition original finish '94 with a color cased receiver.

I'm following two upcoming auctions.
Some goodies there, but prices will prolly sky rocket.

$ 1.- is roughly SEK 10, so it is easy to calculate. Then add 22.5% in provision. And your a whole lot poorer.

My dear wife says I now have more than enough guns and that if I buy any more she'll leave me.

Ö I'm sure going to miss her.   (<<

A Richards-Mason conversion is high on the list....as well as an '62 Pocket Police. I keep hoping Cimarron will finally release their  '62 Police Conversion....that might move to the top if they ever decide to make a few.

I too, have "more then enough guns" which is also a direct quote from a close family member. Fortunately there are enough guns that it may go unnoticed if I pay for it out of my holster sales money. Shhhhhhhh....it's a secret.

Krylandalian, do you know for sure if they ever made a shoulder stock for the Signature Series Dragoon? I know that ASM, Uberti and Sig Series all made 3rd Model Dragoon's that were cut for shoulder stock but as far as I know the only one who ever actually made the shoulder stocks was ASM.

Well, I did get me a new gun for my birthday, but not for concealed carry. I got a Ruger 6, .22LR/.22Mag.

Now, on my new wish list is an Icom IC-7851.

I thought I was all done buying guns, but......I have always regretted selling my Browning 1885 BPCR in 45-90. In the recent live auction near me, there was one listed. I posted my max bid the afternoon before the live auction; didn't think I won any of the guns I bid on. Then this week I got a notice that I DID win the Browning. I won't be able to pick it up for a few weeks as I am less than a week post-op for hip replacement, gonna be hard to wait! I will now have a matched pair of those Browning BPCR rifles, one in 40-65 and one in 45-90. IIRC, they only made 300 of the 45-90s. Browning has made a couple of different variations of the BPCR series.
