Oh my ... that first gen 32-20 is exquisite. She shows the care that has been given. Very nice collection for sure. Like you ... I would put the grips on display and replace em with plastic or wood, prolly wood. Shoot her ... she was meant to shoot.

Thanks for sharing. That pic of your dad is a keeper.

Straightened out the butchered wiring on a lawnmower. Used toggle switches for two functions because the switches for those functions were bad.

Thanks guys.  A pic of Pop from a magazine article.  He was a lawman down in Mississippi.  I still have his service pistol too (not pictured).

Whereabouts in MS? Be careful taking those grips off.

Thanks ShotgunDave.  I came by my love of these smokewagons honest.  Is there anything better?  I'd love to shoot the 1st gen 32-20 but I'm a little afraid that the pearl grips will fall apart.  I have a rule that I won't own anything I can't shoot.  I might just have to switch that bull head out with some black rubber and give her a spin.

You think just like I do. No safe queens in my house! Every gun has to earn it's keep.

I'd do just what you're suggesting. If the old grips are a little fragile, I'd get a pair of "gutta percha" grips and burn powder in it.
