Some more on the Dance
« on: September 23, 2015, 07:46:08 PM »
Enjoyed the presence of this particular revolver on this fine early fall evening. Next month, I will have owned this shooter for one year. I really enjoy the history of the Confederate revolvers and enjoy even more the owning and shooting of the current replicas.
I just can't see myself without a small collection of CSA revolvers to go along with my Colts.

Since my last report, I opened up the hammer notch and shortened the tip of the notch to lower the point of impact. I will also report that the revolver received a total refinish shortly after I got it. The pics are now gone from my previous thread and I can't remember if it had been refinished at that point when I first featured it on this forum. Anyway, it does not look like a typical new Dance anymore. Because of my personal quirks, I just have to remove the black powder warning from the side of the barrel on any Pietta that I own.

Everything about this revolver pleases me. It falls in at number two as far as my favorite CSA version of revolvers that I have on hand. It shoots mighty fine and functions like a top. It also has just enough oddness to the appearance without the recoil shield to fall into the unique category for me. I always have liked a lot of the the a-typical firearms. I suppose that is because I am a bit odd myself (7+"

Looks good.  I have not had a chance to handle or fire one of them.  Glad you are enjoying yours.

Scooby:

You seem to have more money than you know what to do with.

Not a cut. Just envious of the fact that I should have gotten started in the C&B Colt field before I retired.

Very nice gun, sir.

Na Jim, I just worked way more than 40 hours a week for a bunch of years. I have everything paid off now and no longer pay interest rates or monthly payments like I used to
