Wrong grips!
« on: December 07, 2015, 12:42:58 PM »
Bought a pair of Altamont grips this morning that were supposed to fit the New Vaquero/Flattop Blackhawk, I.E. the wife's gun. Got them home and found out they fit my large-frame Vaquero. Oy!

The other grips on my Vaquero...

The Vaquero with the new grips...

What do I tell the wife, besides that I'm going back tomorrow to find out of they have the grips in the proper size for her gun, like these were supposed to be.

Tell her "sorry they don't fit your new Vaquero,  but they sure look good on mine.  We'll get a set for yours next month when I get paid again."

Let us know how that works out for you.

I can go back to the place I got these tomorrow and see if they have a set for the new vaquero. Or, if she likes them, I can order a set tonight from Altamont.

Either way,  I'd keep those for myself.  They really look good on the stainless Vaquero.

I like them. My wife decided she likes them, too, so I have to get her a set.

I had the same set on a Single Six but had to sell it.

The rosewood looks just as good on the blued frame.  I think I'm going to order some for my son's old Vaquero for Christmas.

I've pretty much decided I like the wood grips on my Vaquero better than the fake ivory grips.

The wife's grips have been shipped. She's waiting anxiously for them to arrive.

They're ther slim profile grips, so they fit her hand better.
