3rd Dragoon Military Model
« on: December 09, 2015, 10:50:24 PM »
There were some original 3rd Dragoon Military Model's that were cut for shoulder stock and had a folding 3-leaf rear sight:

Does anybody know where one could obtain a new sight like that?

Don't know of a source for the sight; but, ASM made military model 3rd Model Dragoons with the sight and cut for the shoulder stock (They made the shoulder stocks too.)  They also made them with 18 inch barrels and holsters.

They show up on Gun Broker all the time.  Last one that sold went for $350  (GB auction  519153191)

Here's mine.  I had Dragoon do his action magic on it.  One of the smoothest guns I own now.

It is a beauty.  I think I like the blued hardware better than the brass on the smaller caliber shoulder stocks.

Fingers, that's really neat. I have a Walker getting Goonerized now. It's a new Uberti, not the ASM Walker I just posted in the other thread. When I get the Uberti back I want to send him the ASM.

Dixie Gunworks sells a Military Model 3rd Dragoon that's cut for shoulder stock but it doesn't have the folding sight.

Yeah, Uberti's Military model doesn't have the leaf sight.  The Signature Series Colt was cut; but, didn't have the sight either.
