First pics of winter
« on: December 22, 2015, 12:07:03 PM »
Got our first snow fall that ammounted to more than a skiff a few days ago. Its been a mild winter so far. Had one week of colder clear weather, some light snow that melts off in a days time, and lots of rain.

It looked just like that around here a week ago.   We have had a couple good snowfalls and several smaller events.   Snowpack in the Colorado mountains is above average in many river basins.   Hope it continues.
Nice pictures of the fresh snowfall Scooby.

I object!

 (7+" (7+" (7+"

Now that I am getting grey Miner, I have a few objections with the stuff too. Plowed snow for my neighbors and myself today. Broke the line on my 4 wheeler winch and had to fix that. Should have plowed snow two days ago. Would have been much easier. Shoveled off the roofs of two sheds and my main porch. I never let snow set for too long on any of my roofs. Takes just the right conditions for the stuff to slide off on it's own, and I have never been one to wait around on conditions. I have seen more decks and sheds ruined from snow loads in these parts than I can recall. If the stuff sets for a week, get off the couch and move it by force I say.

However, I am not conducting these winter chores with the same enthusiasm as I did a few years back. Today was prime to go out and do some shooting. The sun was partially out and it was in the high 30's. But no, I had homestead chores to do instead. Whoa is me  (7+" (7+"

Not black and white with these ones Kirk. Rather they were taken just at the break of day.

No snow here yet. I call 3/10" no snow. Cause that's what we got. Even the lakes don't have any ice on them! WTF!!! Ya can't even go ice drinking. (jh

Ah....duh! My bad. Still has that B&W look. Very 'vintage'. Love it!
