Good looking revolver!  What year or did ASM forget the stamp?

ASM made some nice replicas back in the days. I like these grips too.

Forget the stamp?

The Italian makers are required to stamp a date code on the frame of the firearm designating the year it was built.  On a lot of the early revolvers, ASM in particular, the stamp is either very faint or missing.

I am sure someone on this site has a link to the codes, I seem to have lost mine.

I have a list somewhere. A lot of those guns were kits so no build code.

This one is out of date. Think I have a newer one but dunno where I put it. You can figure out the latest ones from it tho.

(7&  Hummm from that list she was born in 1984.  This one has the Sam colt address on the top of the barrel. Underneath the loading lever is made in Italy ASM.

That's one of the barrels Uberti subcontracted for the second gen Colt's. ASM got stuck with them when Colt ceased production and subsequently got sued over.

That is a great looking ASM.  Don't know what they did differently with their grip finishes, but I like it.

I own one ASM model, a dragoon.  When it arrived at my house and I took it out of the box I couldn't believe how great the grips looked.
