New bacon partner
« on: February 13, 2016, 07:29:48 PM »
My daughter, who is moving back in with us in June, was over for dinner tonight and asked me to teach her how to make bacon. I had a couple of pork bellies available, so I dug one out, cut it into quarters and showed her how to measure and mix the cure, rub the belly, and seal it for curing. I did the first quarter, then supervised while she did the other three pieces. In a couple of weeks, she'll come over to take part in the smoking.

Those are good times, passing things/ knowledge on to your children. Somehow, it makes it all worthwhile. You're a lucky dad. 8)
