Gunsmoke

Watching a Gunsmoke rerun the other night...was genuinely surprised to see one of the actors loading his pistol with honest-to-gosh .44-40 bottleneck ammo!
"You gonna pull those pistols, or whistle Dixie?"

There's one early episode and I don't know which one where Joe has a converted 51 and it shows him reloading several times by taking the barrel and cylinder off. He even reloads it and then reloads it again without firing a shot. (*3

These definitely appeared to be bottleneck lead bullets. Not saying they couldn't have been doctored 5-in-1's with a gray bullet painted on, but they sure looked authentic to me.
