Thanks for posting up the pic of yours Richard. It is neat that you have a 3rd gen from the first year of production. I am going to go ahead and just live with the fixed cylinder bushing.

I am shooting a 260 grain Lyman cast bullet with a slightly compressed case full of 3F Goex. I have had a few screws work loose myself with this load.

Hi scooby, Colt sells a set of plastic washers to place on the screws to keep them from working out. The only problem is that they work only once and then need to be replaced if the revolver is disassembled. Getting the old plastic washer off the screw or frame recess is also a royal PITA. Shoot BP in a Colt SAA and disassembly is desirable to maintain the value of the revolver.

Regards,
Richard

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the gun but it sounds like you are well on the way to fixing it.
I shoot bp only and love it. Good luck on the fix.

Bigted, you gotta stop taking these year-long vacations and you won't miss so much....

Ya Ted, I had to clean out my photo bucket account.

Next time I take it out, I will put up some new ones.

Photo Bucket has gone from Bad to Major Suckage. It takes me ten minutes to navigate to my albums as every ten seconds I get pop-ups that I have to navigate around (yes, pop-up blocker is enabled) That's what you get when you use their "free" photo storage. You pay one way or the other.
Have had very good luck so far with Yahoo's Flickr site.I can send images from my smart phone the instant I take them and when I log on tho Flickr they are already there. No waiting, no downloading to computers, etc.
I just wish I didn't have so many photos stored on PB.

Hi Capt.
Download your PB photos onto a USB drive and close your PB account.   I'm going to buy a thumb drive and try to get it done this weekend.  I'm fed up with PhotoBucket too.

its true ... if only this freakin JOB would cease and desist I could get on with what is really impotent in life.

I also have trouble with the bucket ... if I download my photos on a thumb drive ... then can I scoot em over to here without too much fuss?

got out and shot my 3rd gen the other day and I have more loaded now ... if I can squeeze time out for a range run ... life will be a success again.

I'm not sure how easy the pics will be to post here from the thumb drive but I plan on uploading them to Flickr or Tinypic as I need them.

I have some BP [3F GOEX in 21 grain configuration with lee 158 grain pure lead bullets] loaded in 20 cases for the next range trip. I also have some 38 spc loaded with upside down hollow based 148 grain wadcutters for the expansion test. should be fun to say the least.

I do like these Colts but have found [hey there ... put that rope away] that my Ruger Vaquero will out shoot either one of the Colts.

I will stand by for the repercussion from that last statement. just stating the truth tho ... wish I weren't tho. the little short Ruger will pile 1 hole groups in the target at 7 yards all the time. Colts not so much.
