Back in the 19th century you could get a Pocket Model chambered for a cartridge, a 38 of some sort RF or CF.  (Fast forward to the 20 and 21st centuries)  No one makes a conversion for the replica of the Pocket Models.  Not enough room in the cylinder to safely produce one.  At least not in 38 caliber.
Knowledge carried to the grave unshared, is wasted.

The 1849 have a 32 cal conversion cylinder but the little 5 shot police etc are .36 cal. I don't know why somebody didn't do a conversion for them in 38 S&W or 38 special.

I believe the cylinder diameter on the pocket police and navy are too small for the cartridge conversions to work with them.  Maybe the cartridge pressures are too high and the small cylinders would be too thin after chambering for .38cal.  I would really like to see them with a conversion.  Right now we'll just have to be happy with the 1849 Pocket in .32cal.
