I've been wrapped up in cartridge rifles for a long time - the 50-70, Gallagher .54 and Vetterli .41 - but yesterday I took the Walker and the 3rd Gen. 1861 .36 to the range.  I almost forgot how much fun percussion revolvers are.
The Signature Series Colt still spits spent caps like a semi-auto.  Smooth, balanced, accurate, and great looking.
I haven't fired the Walker in well over a year - I almost forgot I had it.  It's definitely in a league of its own. With 50 grs of FFFG under a .454 ball, it shoots like a rifle at 50 ft or 100 yds.  I had that Walker "you gotta be shittin' me" grin for an hour or so.
Anyone else still shooting?

The city bought out our range to make a parking lot for the local transit company last fall. We are in the process of building a new facility, but it's going to take time, and a lot of money.
So needless to say, I've not been shooting. The club made me their "Project Manager", so I'm there about every other day right now, but there's nothing to shot at. It's killin me.
Never shot a Walker. I hear they are a handful.

They look and sound mean but they're so heavy, there's not much recoil.  I've been using reduced loads in the 50-70, around 50 grs of FFG, and for some reason that rifle kicks more than the Walker with 50 grs FFFG.

Glad to hear yur range report Dave... All I shot at Rondy Was a Lewis and Clark Remake of the .45 cal 20 shot air gun, was pretty cool suppose to get a video email. Gonna try to get out and make smoke ...
