I found an old bolt action Italian Vetterli wall hanger in an antique shop last winter, and got it for a little over $100.  It was, literally, a wall hanger - it had two holes drilled through the stock where the wall pegs stuck through.  Anyways, I bought the gun and restored it.  Research shows that the rifle started as a single shot BP rifle in 1870 chambered in 10.4mm.  In 1887 it was converted to a four shot, magazine fed rifle, then in WW1 it was converted to 6.5 Carcano by lining the barrel and adding a Carcano magazine.  So, it's called Model 1870/87/15.  It's the longest named rifle and the tallest rifle that I have.
They are considered by many as not safe to shoot.
Anyhoo, I got a die set, some brass, some bullets, some clips for the magazine and loaded up some mild rounds with a low pressure smokeless powder.  I took it to the range today and tried it out.  It's rough, not smooth, not really accurate (though it did hit the gong at 100 yds) but I gotta say, it's cool to shoot an old, vintage rifle like that.
