I shot up all my powder for my Sharps so I bought a new case and had to do some testing to see what charge the new lot would take. My old powder shot the best at 76grns. The same amount of the new powder weighed in at 72grns. I started testing at 70grns. and worked my way up to 78grns. to be sure I had every possible load covered. 73grns. looked good and was acceptable, so was 77grns. MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!when I shot the 71grn. charge, I put all 5 shots in a hole that measures .350", Hee Hee  yes yes. Hell, the bullet is .459, It was cool today so I guess they shrunkdid up a tad on the way to the target, Hee Hee Hee. Those boys at River Bend Gun Club has had it now, and I've got 25 lbs. of this stuff. Anyway, or Anywho as Wayner would say, I'm a happy Ole Coot! cool1

I've shot at River Bend Gun Club many times. Were you shooting your Sharps on the 600 yard hill?  lol3

I'm using Swiss 1.5 in a 45-70. Welcome aboard Junkman, glad to have you in here. No, I was not shooting at River Bend today, I was on a smaller range that is closer to home. That 600yd. hill will separate the good shooters from the great shooters in a hurry. Isn't that a great range, I love the new Shilouette range too, have you shot on it?
