Well......my opinion is the only one that really counts. horsey
I'm the only sane person in the world of fools I have to endure. guns
Any whoooooo.........The top of the line is....... not in any order of quality.......EN Santa Barbara, Second Generation Colts percussions revolvers, Third Generation Colt percussions ,Pietta "Shooters Model", Hege Remington and Rodgers and Spencer, Pedersoli Remington and Rodgers and Spencer(may be the same ones they get from Hege), 1960 Army Centennial TradeMark Centaures, and last but.....the best there ever will be......Wayners Tuned and Timed and Accurized Centaure 1960 New Model Army Centaures. If you Hombres ever had the oportunity to fire one of my top of the line Centaures Centennial 1860 Army revolvers  and make bulls-eyes on targets time and time again you would know the truth. Of course you'd have to be able to have the guns function at full capacity and...that would take someone that actually can shoot really really good. That counts me out. ha ha ha ha  I can tell when a gun shoots better than I can make it do it. How? Hell Couldn't tell ya. God like perception? Dillussional? Out of my mind from too many hours lookin down cap&baller revolver barrels? One of the best shots ever on the face of the earth...at times? Take yer pic. ha ha ha I do know some of them Centaures can really shoot after I accurize them and tighten them up.
I'd put any number of my tuned Colts up against any Remington made. The other Colts I have that aren't tuned and accurized yet or the ones with bad barrels or every component machined crooked...well.......I'll not mention those. NOW............
If anyone wants to bash me or run my reply into the dirt...well.......I don't care. lol3  I know we're all friends and "all"  secretely disdain DAVE fer being the coolest Hombre here even if his guns are all kinda funky but we are jealous of him gettin them.. lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 lol3 I mean.....look at the way he taunts us with that DANGED "CUSTER" all the time. finger
Anywhooooo......I have a good respect fer the E.N. Santa Barbara Remington especially with it's hardest steel of any cap&baller I've tried to diamond file or lap the barrel there of.
I went to diamond lapping compound and still made REAL SLOW PROGRESS lapping the barrel of one. The barrel was one size the first forth and got bigger the next forth and then smaller the next forth and then wide at the muzzle end forth. I lapped and lapped at that barrel on an apparatus I made on my mill table to move the tight lap and.........I gave up.......for now.......it's been a coupla years since I gave up..........
If that barrel doesn't shoot I want to have a Badger barrrel liner sleeved into it. The barrel is fully hand engraved so I can't change it out.

That goes to show that some of the best still have lemons. The most reliable I think are the Second Gen Colts and the Pietta Shooters Model and Rodgers and Spencers whoever makes them, and of course the guns from Hege and Pedersoli.
OK I'm off my soap box fer now. horsey

Well this was a thread about E.N. Santa Barbaras ... but seein' it's you yur soapbox post is allowed Wink laugh ... Rodgers&Spencers were made by Euroarms alias Armi San Paolo same as my other Favorite Remingtons ... Dixie Still sell them and S&S Firearms ... same ones that compete is the Pistol Shoots with the Hedges and E.N. Santa Barbaras ... Pedersoli has supposedly taken over the sales if not the Mfg. of R&S'.
Send me that damn Santa Barbara that's been sitting for two yearts that you wore yur elbow out on so I can see it it shoots or not  ... hell I know what you paid for it so will send you my FIE 1851 Colt .44 Brasser(maybe) that ended up costing me $375 cause I locked my keys on old Lexus' trunk ... laugh
Sorry I missed this thread somehow... may have been when I accidently deleted myself ... I'll try callin' you this weekend. Stay out of the heat Blue Tick CSA
