My Remington, Remington
« on: June 01, 2011, 09:24:27 PM »
This is my first original, Picked this one up at an antique auction Monday. Serial number is in the 75000 range, it has all the inspectors marks in the correct places, cartouche on the left side grip. Action is nice and smooth, alignment is perfect, rifling and cylinder is great.
There is one problem with it, It seems to have become permantely attached to my hand anytime I'm in the house. ;)

 With some repro gear

There was also an earlier model Remington/Beals model there, it was a little rough with no original finish but it still worked pretty good.
Figured I finally had something worthy of my first post. :)

Thanks guys, I've had many reproductions over the years of Colt and Remingtons but it really is a different feel holding the real deal.
I've always favored the Colt style more it seems, mainly the 51 navy but I'm not so sure that's the case anymore. ;)
