Hi Fellas.  I jumped into some BP revolvers recently and made a few purchases, including some I didnt expect to make (or expect to win).

I want to sell this EIG Navy.  I understand it to be the 'accidental replica' of the Schnieder and Glassick CSA revolver.  .36 cal.

Its XXII coded.  EIG Navy on barrel.  GB stamped on the butt.

I dissassembled it, decrudded it, and put a new sear spring in.  Heavy hammer spring as you might imagine.  It turns and locks good.  No apparent problems.

Aside from normal appearing wear there is that one unsightly pit line on the cylinder.  There is no active rust now.  Bore and chambers look decent or better.  Nipples look good.  Wedge comes out with no enormous difficulty, about as snug as it should be.  Mechanically, it needs zero work.  Unpack it, shoot it.

I can see two apparent problems already.

1.the 'pit line' on the cylinder as you call it, indicates the bolt is droppping way too early and scraping the cylinder.

2. you have inserted the wedge from the wrong side. It goes in from the left side(where the screw is).

Ah - that does speak to my relative noviceness.

I bought it for what I ask for it, and have had it merely a few days.  It didn't lock the cylinder at all when it arrived.  I can't keep it, but I did fix it.  I am an old hand with an SAA.  On tear down, the bolt leg of the sear spring was missing.  With the new sear spring, I judge timing as right on the money.

Actually, I'm talking about that horizontal scrape that appears as viewed on the left side.  Thats not a bolt line.  Its a wierd rust pit line.

Huh.  I put the wedge back in the way it was.  I can stand to be corrected on that.
