Remington New Model Army Factory 22 Conversion
« on: January 27, 2011, 02:39:26 PM »

This is the unit that Kirst Konvertors/Raven's Roost based their new 22 Drop In conversion on:

I took these pictures a month or so ago with my cell phone (sorry about the quality) )*'
I have been told that there were three of these "Tool Room" prototypes made by Remington.

The original had a full length barrel that screwed into the "block" from the muxxle end as shown and would have required individual fitting to each pistol.

It also had an ejector assembly (which was obviously NOT meant for frontier use).

What a cute little beast. Do you have an idea why the cylinder was shortened back then? And will the modern drop-in cylinder also be of this short variety?

Nice setup, gives me ideas for one of my extra Remingtons.
If it shoots then I have it, am about to get it, want it, or plotting to get it

After much ado.............

This is the unit that is now available from Kirst/Strite company

Here it is (dropped right in and indexed perfectly) in an older Lyman Uberti New Model Army.
The price point is $290.00 for these and it is SWEET!
