Confederate Revolvers / Looking for a Spiller and Burr
« on: February 16, 2013, 07:49:09 PM »
If any of you guys have a duplicate Spiller and Burr around that is just collecting dust I would love to communicate with you about buying it for a fair price. Obviously I am looking for a deal but not a steal.

I am looking for one that is functionable and with a decent bore. I do not plan on shooting it but using it is a display that I show publicly. Dull brass is preferred

Thanks

I sure would like to see more activity here. I like guns in general but my main interest is in BP revolvers.
Of course I could generate some posts too!  :)

Finger's, you are certainly correct in what you say about Dr Davis. He knows more than probably anyone alive today!

Welcome to the forum! Will look forward to hearing from you and about any new additions to your collection.
A number of us collect the 2nd Gen Colts. Do take Finger's advice and get yourself a copy of the 2nd gen collectors book. You will find it is a bargain.

Have not given much thought to selling it other than yesterday I took all of my cap and ball revolvers out of the safes and wiped them down and inventoried them. I have 5 1849's si will give it some thought.

I am interested in the Spiller and Burr. Do you have pictures and can you give me a detailed description?

Yes, it is double action. the company also made a 1851 Navy version that was double action also.
