The conversation between you two guys about date codes is why I love coming to this forum. It's not a competition: it is truly an exchange of information.

I only wish I had something to add.

Jim

Chuckle. I am not sure if I should take that as a positive or a negative. I haven't been banned yet, so that is surely a good sign.

The other posters sure come up with some good information. I have scrapbook that contains many printed posts from this and other threads (on other forums as well) that add to my C&B library so that my old-age somewhat-semi-dementia does not interfere with who said what, and so I don't get that confused with something else. And, I like to peruse printed material as I am old hat.

You folks, as well as those on Colt Country, as well as the sister forum 1858 Remington, have been very gracious to me insofar as my posts.

My interest in 1848/1849 Colt pockets (and the modern replicas) is second only to my interest in 1851 .36 Navies and Confederate .36 copies of such and others (and modern replicas).
