Tucker & Sherrard Dragoon- "Texas Dragoon"
« on: November 23, 2010, 05:59:15 PM »
Gentlemen,

I can use your help.  I have been contacted by a relative of the manufacturers of the original Tucker & Sherrard Dragoon.  He informed me of a couple of articles that supposedly appeared in the February, 1979 and November, 1979 issues of Guns Magazine.  If you have these issues or know where I can find them I will share all the information that I gain from these.  The articles deal with the introduction of the Uberti replica Tucker & Sherrard Dragoons.

Also, if you own one of these revolvers please share the serial number range and the Date Code, year of manufacturer.  I have never come across any of these revolvers that were made after 1979-80.  However, I have seen EMF Catalogs that advertise this revolver up into the 1990s.  I can remember calling EMF way back in 1994 to order one of these revolvers but were told they were out of stock.  It would be valuable information for all collectors to know just exactly when production of this particular revolver ceased.

Dr. Davis,  Madcratebuilder is the only person that I know of - outside of yourself - that has a T&S.  You might want to contact him.

A posting on TFL, THR, and CAS City might help as well

I have a Uberti, Tucker, Sherrard & Co. Dragoon, serial #04230. Marked on barrel Cimarron Arms Co.-Houston, Texas. It is new, has never been fired and I can provide photos if you would like.

Tomahawk,

Is your Tucker & Sherrard still in the box, is it cased, or just a single revolver?  Please send pictures either to the forum or direct to my email.  Include all markings on barrel, under loading lever, butt, cylinder, DATE CODE, etc.  This is the first one of these that I have ever come across with the Cimarron markings.  Stands to reason, however, since Cimarron acquired all left over inventory from Allen Arms when Allen closed up shop.  Another one of the distributors that I think may have also marked their Tuckers is EMF.  They advertised these in their catalogs long after their initial issue but never had them in stock when requested.  Yours is a big help in putting together the history of these revolvers.  Thanks for the info.

Go to Photbucket.com, upload them, then select the pic, and then get the forum link and put it into your post.

Also, at the bottom of the post reply window, is a tab additional options, add it as an attachment. The pic won't display, but there will be a link that people can click to open it up.

Pm me if you need to and let me know where you are getting hung up at.

I'll add a big +1 to that.  I've been looking for one ever since Madcratebuilder got his.
