My Kentucky pistol
« on: February 02, 2014, 01:28:44 PM »

I sometimes for a change like to break out the single shots.  This is my Kentucky.

My wife got me this little Colonial pistol two yrs ago as a Christmas present.  Lots of fun!

This is a Tower pistol I picked up a couple yrs ago.  I've only fired it a couple times.  It is damn hard to hit anything with no sights!

This is a little Phili i picked up last summer.  I haven't fired it yet, it's missing the front pin, and I havent gotten around to making one yet.

Brazos, they are some nice ones! Agreed; it's nice on occasion to throttle back, take your time and relax.....load one shot at a time, slow & easy. Not as hectic as shooting a revolver! :)

Yep, it is a change of pace to shoot the single shots. Plus, they CAN be very accurate too, what with the longer sight radius and set triggers (on some models).

I own a number of CVA single shot pistols and all are fine shooters. They tend to prefer heavier loads of powder for best accuracy. I love woods loafing while carrying a brace of my Kentucky or Colonial pistols. Slow to reload but they pack a wollop.

Dave, I have two of those Pa. Derringers; first one I built as a Dixie kit gun 30 + years ago. The last one is a Jukar I got from a friend in a trade. Haven't fired that one yet, both are 45 caliber.
