Hi, one of my new Uberti 1862 has had the arbor length fixed and a reduced power spring installed. That revolver will be my living room display 1862. Two of my Uberti 1862, top 1862 shooter with taller front sight, bottom 1862 display:

Very nice iron, Richard. How do the pockets feel in the hand compared to, say, a Navy?

Hi Kirk, the 1849/1862 frame is much smaller than the 1851. The 1849/1862 are tiny to hold in one's hand. The benefit of the smaller frame is that it hides away much easier than a full sized framed revolver.

Regards,
Richard

I just wondered. I have a baby dragoon and it feels like a toy in the hand. I can barely squeeze the tip of my finger into the TG.

I have smallish hands and can get a full grip but curling the pinkie under the grip may give more comfortable trigger reach.

Richard, you have the makin's there of a S&G replica. I say go for it in your typical gung-ho fashion.

Hi Kirk, I have a very good solution to that ugly brasser 1851 kit:

https://www.dixiegunworks.com/index/page/product/product_id/8624/category_id/321/product_name/RH0100+Dixie+Pietta+1851+Brass+Frame+Navy+Revolver

Frankly, saving $20 for the kit is a very false economy. I ordered the finished brasser .36 1851. I'll still keep the kit just in case some day I become motivated and bored.

Regards,
Richard

Hi, the Pietta brass frame 1851 arrived yesterday. You've got to give it to Pietta, they just get better and better in quality. The fit, finish, and timing is perfect. It is a very handsome revolver. Unfortunately, the cylinder of the 1851 was engraved, the Schneider & Glassick has a plain cylinder. I remember that the kit 1851 had a plain blued cylinder. That cylinder was assembled on the new Pietta 1851 to create a Schneider & Glassick. Of course I put a new reduced power spring in the Schneider & Glassick. This revolver is now ready for display in my living room, the Schneider & Glassick:

Hi, the Schneider & Glassick now has a place of honor in my living room display. The Schneider & Glassick is second from the left in this photo:

What are those guns on the bottom shelf I don’t recognize them? Some new type of plastic wonder nine?

Hi, after looking a my display for awhile, I notice the large empty space at the right of the revolvers. A full size revolver wouldn't fit, but a Pietta brass frame Remington 1863 does:

The items on the lower shelf are modem and WiFi gear. Also there are led lanterns for use if a power outage. Even with the power out at night I can then still enjoy the revolver display.  (*3 (*3

That stand looks like it's from a high end antiques store.
