Since these are fantasy guns, I put them here in the "other" category. Seemed like the right place.
Both of these pistols started life as .44 Navy's. The Sheriff model was actually a brasser when I obtained it. Both guns have been through several re-configurations. This is their current state. They are a true testament to the parts interchangeability of Pietta guns. Or as our very own Sourdough calls them, "Adult Legos", and that's truly what they are!
I swapped the Navy grip, on the long barreled gun, for an Army grip before I shot it this weekend. I'm glad I did. The longer grip is easier for me to control, while shooting in a hurry. Since I liked it so much, I found another Army grip frame and swapped out the Sheriff model as well. Now they match, and they match my 72 Open Tops. Switching between the guns won't be a problem now. They all feel and handle basically the same. And since they are fantasy guns anyway, with .45 Colt conversions, I don't feel guilty about not being what some call, historically correct.
Now, what to do with that nice steel BS/TG I took off the Sheriff? (See my other post in the Navy section to find out!)
