Oh crap ... you guys are KILLIN me with these original Colts. Very nice aquasition! That is exceptional.

Is the hammer spring heavy? Can you tell what size hole is in the nipples?

I am betting that those nipple holes have everything to do with the cap sucking problem with the new revolvers ... that and the light hammer springs.

No sir, I don’t recall the spring being heavy. I will compare it too my 2nd gen colt and a Uberti. I don’t really have anything to measure the holes other than drill bits.  I’ll see if I can determine an approximation when I clean it soon.

I'm sure she has.

You're a stronger man than I. I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to burn a little powder in it. Just to be able to say I've fired an original.

I was wrong.  Compared to the reproductions that spring is significantly heavier.

Thanks kYJ. Thought it might be a bit heavier then the Italians guns. Tis one reason that (in my opinion anyway) that the new aftermarkets are cap suckers.

This and the smaller nipple holes found on era nipples that are not worn out! Sure would like to know the nipple hole diameter on those original revolvers!

It would be funny if they made extra heavy after market springs for the repros. It would kinda make sense though.
