Yes Fellas, you read that right! We're having a raffle!!
This site has become my go-to hangaround spot. I have made some very good friends here, and learned a lot from the membership. I want to do something to give back and help out.
As you know, Smokey is upgrading the hosting, to make this site and the Remington site much better. It will benefit us all. The unfortunate side is, Smokey will be deferring the cost of this upgrade on his own. We need to pitch in and help him out. In my mind, it's only fair and right.
Some folks have already donated to the cause, and I know for a fact that Smokey is very grateful for that. But it still doesn't get us where we need to be. So here's how we're all going to help.
I am donating this black powder flask to raffle off, to one lucky winner. 100% of the proceeds will go to Smokey to defer the cost of the upgrade. Our target goal is $200. That and the money that you've already graciously donated, will get us the upgrade we need. So without further adieux, here's how it's going to work.
I will take pledges from everyone, that wants to buy a ticket. Kinda like the Jerry Lewis Telethon. You pledge to buy as many tickets as you want, at $5.00 each. We need to sell 40 tickets to hit our goal. Once we have sold the 40 tickets, I will put everyone's name into the hat, and have my daughter draw the name. I will video the whole event, and post it here, so everyone can see the winner's name drawn. I will than send the prize to the winner (the flask). Sound good to everyone?
If you're going to make a pledge, just sound off here. Tell us how many tickets you want and we'll keep track of it. For every ticket you pledge to buy, your name goes in the hat that many times. Obviously the more tickets you get, the better off your chances are.
Once we reach the 40 ticket goal, you will be instructed to go to the donation page, and make your donation there. As soon as Smokey tells me the money is in hand, I'll do the drawing. The money will never be in my hands. It will all go directly to Smokey.
