Shot the Dance Today
« on: February 08, 2020, 05:01:11 PM »
Stepped away from the typical Colt pattern for this day's shooting. It is good to head out the door with a variable every once in a while. It was a mild winter day at 37 degrees. The humidity allowed for the powder smoke to hang in the air for an extended time.

Steve, that is by far the coolest looking Dance I've ever seen! Did you or someone else alter the finish or is that a factory finish?

Scooby,

Is that a defarbed/antiqued current production Pietta .44 or...?

If so, I have some Q's.

Jim

Ya men, it is nothing more than my typical defarb and refinish job. Kirk, you have seen a bunch of others that I have done over the years. I just replaced all of the pics this evening of the previous post that I put up a some years ago labeled "Some More On the Dance." Go check that post as well. I like a Pietta reproduction much better without the barrel stamping. I have also taken a liking to my refinish touch. It wears back quick if I use a piece a lot, but it then takes on a mellow worn look similar to charcoal blue.
