Hi, after watching this video I ordered the Johnston & Dow bullet mold from Eras Gone. It's tough paying $66 for a $22 Lee mold, but as Tony Soprano says "what are you going to do?"

I look forward to casting this bullet and shooting it.

Regards,
Richard

Love his videos. And I really love that he uses original guns most of the time.

He has to. They don't allow repros over there.

Oh wow. I didn't know that.

Something I've noticed about his videos. Every gun has a sticker on it. The pistols usually have it on the butt. Is that some kind of registration requirement over there?

Hi Dave, IMO Kirk is pulling your leg. capandball has many YouTube videos where he compares originals to replicas. Have you seen capandball's paper cartridge former for sale:

Richard:

Thanks for the link to the formers.  I think I will get the .36 and .44 and use them with the Lee conicals that I cast.  They should work OK with the standard Pietta rammer.  I just wish they allowed a bit more powder, although I imagine that with the Eras Gone molds that's all the room available.
