Here's my first contribution, shooting shotgun this morning. I took screenshots out of a video. I do not know how to cut a video down to a small amount of Mb:s, but if you copy these frames to a file you can run them with a photo viewer and sequence the frames to a short video. Other pics from the occasion, such as the target, number of pellets in the target and some close-ups ot the 1857 shotgun will follow.

That's awesome Len!

That's how I get a lot of my pictures too. I flip through my videos, frame by frame, and do a screen grab of the good stuff.

Here are the stills I took after the shooting.
#0082 is the safe lever in position SAFE, i.e. you can carry the gun with caps on and the hammer doesn't reach.
#0084 is SAFE off.
#0085 was the target, bottle of water, hit by 56 pellets (two loads) and about 1/3 of a load was inside.
#0086 is the silver inlay address reading G.F. STRÍMER. K.H. HOFRUSTMEISTER. HERZBERG A/H
#0087 is the manufacturing year 1857, number 83

There's some info on the net about Herzberg, in Saxony. Had substantial powder and weapons production in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Man, that is a beautiful gun. I have never seen a safety on a hammer gun before. That's pretty cool.

Today I shot the .44, which name I dare not spell out on this here forum. I do not want to be expelled for hate speech or such. Anyhow, I had fun.

No haters on this forum, Len. No kneelers either, for that matter... ;)

I'm sorry to admit this, Cap't, but I do sometimes kneel when shooting the Smith carbine.
