L@J Actually, I have never used it! But I could use it with my fowlers and Trade Gun. It would even fit in the bore of my 58 flintlock, although I have never tried it. And maybe my 54 flinter.

This is an 18th Century folding knife that I had a friend make for me.

And this is where my idea came from; a Sketchbook by Chas. Hanson.

My friend said he would furnish real ivory scales at no additional cost....if I would trade him an original powder flask he wanted. DONE!

That's a cool knife Em! Probably the coolest one you've shown so far. At least to me.

I traded several old knives to Mike116 a year or so ago, including an IXL hoof knife. Maybe he will post some.

We went to a flea market yesterday. They had three obsidian knives that appeared to be well made. The biggest one had a blade about 7 or 8 inches long and about two inches wide. The other two had narrower blades about 5 inches long. The big one was 60 bucks. The other two were 45 and 50.

I admire anyone with the skill to make odsidian blades. Or arrow points and flints for that matter! I have tried a couple of times to make flint "things" and usually end up with a bunch of useless flakes!

That's me. I didn't ask to get them out of the case for a better look and now I wish I'd brought my phone in and gotten a pic. They looked like they were probably Choctaw made. The wrap looked like real sinew but could have been artificial that had been dyed. They may have been all loosey goosey for all I know.
