Thanks, guys!! You all make it so comfortable to be here!

About a month ago, my daughter in Alaska emailed saying she had lost/misplaced the salmon brine recipe/prep/smoker instructions I had given her years ago. They had just scored quite a few Red (sockeye) salmon with dipnets on the Kenai River and wanted to smoke them up. Emailed the stuff to her with the request for several strips of it for my B-Day, and never thought more about it. Wednesday I got over a pound of the product they created, seal-a-mealed and sent USPS Priority Mail. It arrived in very good shape and I immediately refrigerated it (that was not really needed because if cured and smoked correctly it won't spoil for more than 3 months or so in a cool, dark place) because I like to eat it cold. I have consumed about 1/10th of it in the last 2 days just continually munching, as I am now doing as I write. I haven't had any in over 13 years. Excellent gift!

My daughter and her husband in Tacoma WA went to Lost Wages a week or so ago and brought back a black face mask with the logo of the Vegas Golden Knights all over it. I am a hockey addict and am glad the NHL started the Stanley Cup Playoffs nearly a month ago. I record every game on the DVR and am rooting for VGK. We shall see. Another nice gift.

Neither gifts were expensive but plainly showed much thought given by both girls.

I am having an exceptional day!

Regards,

Jim
