Holy Grail
« on: April 16, 2021, 03:19:21 PM »
My wife did it again. She drug me to the gun store with the last of our stimulus money. She bought some kinda Glock and I looked at a few guns I liked but didn't want to spend the money on. Finally after making my way from one end of the gun counter to the other end I spotted it. Way down at the very end of the counter on the very bottom shelf way back in the back lay a pristine Uberti Richards Mason 51 navy Wild Bill edition in .38 special. Not only does this gun look like it's never been fired, it looks like it still has the factory packing oil on it. The price was 595.00 and I didn't hesitate after looking it over. I literally just walked in the door with it, so pics to come.

I think they sold for 800.00 new and it doesn't get much newer than this.

Very nice.   38 special is cheaper to shoot than a lot of other calibers too.

I dunno about that. I got a box of ammo with it that was 30 bucks for 50 rounds. I shouldn't have bought it but I'm running low on .38 special. I've got enough brass to reload some and I scored some primers today too but I'm low on powder.

Great find Hawg.  I don't know what powder you were referring to, but I'd load this one with BP.  Just use soft lube on the bullets.  GF

I've got Pyrodex and Swiss. I'm no stranger to loading bp in cartridges. I've been loading 44-40 for 10 maybe 15 years now. I've also loaded 30-30 and .45 ACP with bp lol
