I don't like autos in general, but particularly don't like plastic ones.  They don't feel "right" in my hand, and in the case of the little compact ones, hurt the hell out of the web betwixt my thumb and forefinger. There ain't a gun on the planet I don't like. The DW's had their place & time, just never rang my bells. Doesn't mean they're not nice guns, though....even if they're NOT Colts!...

I understand, I feel the same way about my Uberti's ... they are not Colt's!

Got some new leather for the CCO.  I always liked the Askins Avenger, here is the Nightingale version.

No but they're as close as you can get without being there.

Well, you might have a problem with this 1911... probably the most maligned 1911 clone in recent history...

Well, it's not stock from the factory. Covina Hardballers had a bad rep insofar as soft steel and when I got mine in a private sale, if I cocked and locked the pistol, pulling the trigger it dropped the hammer and safety and BANG! Problem was a bent sear pin, so I replaced the sear pin, hammer pin, thumb safety, extractor, firing pin, & firing pin stop with blued carbon steel parts, as well as throating the barrel. I'm old school and still use Federal 230 gr +P Hydrashocks for HD and otherwise. It's not a real target gun but it will put all rounds into center of mass at 7 yards.

I paid $150 for the pistol with 2 magazines in 1992 and it runs just fine. I like the Clipdraw for carry around the house (I don't get out much). The Clipdraw alleviates the need for a holster and it does not print while wearing my usual heavy overshirt. My wife is pretty savvy and she can't tell.

Just my $.02 worth.

Wow Sourdough, where'd you get a picture of my Hardballer.  Bought mine NIB in 1984 for $283.00.  Carried it while in the Army & Guard and now use it for Wild Bunch matches.  I've run a variety of handloads through it over the years and now run T7 or BP loads through it.  Still has all the original parts, including springs - except for a milsurp mainspring housing that has a lanyard ring.  I've not found a load yet that wouldn't cycle through it.

When Colt stopped production of the Mustang, SIG bought the rights to make it. When Colt saw how well the SIGs were selling, they decided to get back in the market and started building them again.

SIG does make a polymer frame version of the P238, but mine is the all stainless version called the HD. A little heavier but very soft shooting. I replaced the plastic (!) trigger on mine with an aftermarket stainless one, mainly for aesthetics. I believe the same guy was going to make a stainless mainspring housing too, but haven't checked lately.

... I am considering getting either stag, bone or ivory for the next set...

Ended up with linen micarta.

Okay, I upload a photo and get the "TOO BIG, maximum 198" warning.

I change the photo to 180, plenty small and get a "TOO BIG 128 maximum"  What the hell?

My not a Colt but I wouldn't take a Colt for it. Would have to think about taking two Colt's for it.
