Home made powder horns

I have recently taken up the hobby of horn making. here are my second and fourth horns. My first and 3rd horns were given as gifts to friends of mine. hope you like the pics..

I would say that you are doing quite well. I know the work involved in those horns as I have made two myself. My only criticism would be in your use of the large headed tacks (hey, I have done it myself!). I would prefer to see something like tiny pegs made from round toothpicks, or small square nails, or small brads holding the base in place. Just my two cents worth.   L@J  Keep up the good work!

So you like the more traditional style like this one. This is an in work photo it still needs the lettering cleaned up some final polishing and a strap. The horn shows the leopard firing on the Chesapeake.  I made it for a friend to go with a war of 1812 display.
