Title: Dutch Beaumont
Post by: mazo kid on March 17, 2016, 08:01:11 AM
No, this isn't a lever gun, but it is a repeater. I have had this rifle for many years and just recently got it out and gently cleaned it. I got interested in it after reading that others were loading for and shooting the rifle.

Originally, I had tried to make brass from 45-70 cases, but 50-90 brass works much better.

After fire-forming, I loaded up a few cases. Haven't shot any yet.

I used the same cast bullets as I use for my 43 Mauser

Very nice, Mazo!
Have not yet needed to fireform cases...yet.

As I recall, the bullets were about .446" and  395 grains. Powder charge about 75-80 grains. All this off the top of my head, but should be really close. L@J

Now there is one that I have never read about. It is an interesting looking piece.

That is a potent black powder round that you shoot in it. I would enjoy loading and shooting such a combo.

I am going to look up some info on it this morning.
