I had no idea I was hangin' wiff a buncha haters! ^j)

The Remington was, and is, a very innovative firearm with a number of design improvements over Sam's Children, but the Colt has it in spades over the Remmy when it comes to charm, charisma, feel, and overall good looks.
Nothing looks, feels, or handles like a gen-yew-wine Colt. And you can take that to the bank.

Nope, don't like Remingtons. I've had several and they just don't suit me. The handle is too small and the gun is too big. It's an ungainly thing. I'm sure that they fit some people perfectly, just not me. I won't begrudge anyone that likes/loves them, I just plain don't.

It's Colt all the way for me.

Let the flaming begin...............

Yep, that's just plain gorgeous.

I absolutely love that purplish blue color of Nitre bluing. Kind of "Royal Blue" if you will. You can really see it in those outdoors pictures. Well done Richard.

That is exactly why I voted for the bright polished finish. That blue color gets muted on a matte finished gun. I love it.

This is exactly what I want to do to the GU Navy I got from Mark. I may have to hire you Richard, and send you the parts to blue.

Well I must have bad taste, or low standards, because I think it looks great!

If you are completely dissatisfied with it, and just want to dispose of it, I know a guy out in Kommiefornia that needs a S&G for his Confederate collection.

Just sayin......... L@J

If that is the case Mike it gives me an idea. Dixie Gun Works sells a Military 3rd Dragoon with cut outs on the recoil shield for a shoulder stock. I would assume the gripframe also has the appropriate notch. One could install a Walker arbor and a Walker cylinder and barrel to make a shoulder stocked Walker-Dragoon hybrid. That would be pretty awesome.

You're giving me ideas now Lonesome! I have this old ASM 3rd Dragoon that is cut for the stock with the extra screws. It would be cool to find a Walker arbor and cylinder as well as the barrel. That would really confuse the collectors! And to make it even more confusing, dovetail the barrel for the 3 leaf folding rear sight!

been crazy here durring harvest.

i been struggling with getting here lately... keep getting to an index page with no forum using old links

There's been a lot od forum upgrades and downgrades happening the last few weeks. Poor Smokey has had a helluva time getting it all on track. You're probably better off not using your old links anymore, and starting over.

Thanks Fellas. So I'm not crazy.

The picture I posted above is hosted on Flickr. I like them a lot more for various reasons. One of which is, no watermark on the photo plastered across the middle so you can't see the image.

Glad we got that resolved. Now the next question, how do we get all the pictures on the board fixed? Who wants to look at a bunch of out of focus photos? Because they weren't that way before. Is this PB's way of holding us hostage?

Okay. They're back again. Can one of you fine gentlemen look at the pictures on this thread and tell me if they're fine, or completely out of focus.

And I think I see a pattern. It's ONLY images posted from Photobucket.

The polishing is looking great Richard. Nicely done. My vote is for bright polished as opposed to satin. The brass is mirror like, the bluing should be also. In my humble opinion of course. Do as you see fit.

I was expecting to see a video of you, grinding away on the barrel. I was pleasantly surprised to here a song instead!

Thanks Tim. I'm sure it was just my machine, taking it's time to load the pictures. Might be time to clean my computer out to speed it up.
