Off-Topic Discussion / You Learn Something Everyday
« on: April 24, 2015, 04:59:28 AM »
Pop always told me you learn something new everyday and that was echoed by my Grandfather saying the day you stop learning is the day you stop living.

Yesterday, I learned that at 60 years of age, I can no longer jump a 4' chain link fence.  I am a bit sore today.

Police Models / CVA Pocket Police
« on: February 07, 2015, 05:14:41 AM »
While visiting my brother, he showed me a Connecticut Valley Arms version of the Pocket Police.  Neat little revolver, except it has a brass frame.

I looked for a makers mark and could not find one.  Anyone know who made them for CVA?

Thank you.

I stole this photo from the internet.

A double action boarding Paterson revolver.  Not my cup of tea, but interesting.

Mines getting some work done will post when I get it back - It's a 36 caliber will need to work out the load

Relining the barrel to 375 and sleeving the front part of the cylinder chambers to the same. The walker cylinder is close to one inch longer than the 1851 so it should hold that much more powder

jaxenro, you haven't updated us since January!  The wait is killing me, how is this moving along for you?

Fall is in the air and soon winter will arrive.  Also, gift giving season is fast upon us!  What guns or related stuff are you hoping to receive and what are you planning to give?

Army Models / 3rd Generation 1860
« on: August 19, 2014, 03:46:59 AM »
As some of you know, I am looking for a Model 1860 with a fluted cylinder.  I was contacted by a fellow who has a 3rd Generation Colt 1860 and he is asking $450.  His description is "...not a safe queen... "  Even though it has the box, is that too high?  Once we get over $99 I am out of my area of familiarity!

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you.

Off-Topic Discussion / 70 Years Ago

Seventy years ago, on June 5th, 1944, my Father celebrated his 27th birthday in the engine room of a ship going from England to Normandy.  He mentioned it was not much of a celebration.  Apparently, the fireworks were scheduled for June 6th.

Posted for your amusement, here is an April Fool's Day photo I took years ago.  It has been suggested I update it with a candle (primative laser), and a bayonet.  I gave away the stock so it won't happen.
