E.N. Santa Barbera 1858.
« on: March 18, 2013, 08:27:42 AM »
Hi all, I am new to this forum and to cap and ball revolvers but not to black powder shooting. Up until now, I have been a flintlock shooter exculsively and have been doing so for about 15 years.
I just made a purchase of an E.N. Santa Barbera 1858 and am trying to find any and all info on this revolver as possible. I shot it for the first time yesterday and found to to shoot about 12" high at 25yds. It soots about a 1 1/2" group at that distance, just high. Being that it does not have any adjustible sights, my only option is a taller front. Does anyone know for sure how the front sights are install on these pistols? It is not a dovetail that is for sure so that leaves only a few other options.

Thank You.

I have seen some originals with a dime soldered to the front sight.
