Santa Barbara

OK, so I couldn't resist. I spied a Santa Barbara at the LGS which was (I thought) underpriced, though obviously used. I was able to talk the store clerk down even more than the price listed and put some money down on it.
While looking it over, I noticed there was no date code anywhere I could see. Is this normal for the SB guns?

Santa Barbara was not an Italian maker, but a Spanish one. Their date codes were different.
Can you post any picture of the markings ?

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos yet (or the gun, for that matter). As soon as I get it I'll post up some pix.
Yes, I was aware the SBs were made in Spain, but didn't realize onlt the Italians used the typical date codes we are all used to.

I might add, this thing is built like a brick outhouse! This gun is the tightest revolver I've ever seen, let alone owned.

Hi! These revolvers were the only ones, except the original Remington, to be built by a military manufacture. They are reputed for their quality and their price in Spain is going up! You may find interesting information in English in : http://www.santa-barbara-1858.org/index.php/en/project-1858
I have some. There guns are sometimes engraved with many variations.

Hello, the Santa is built in 1973.
Please see if the number is also on the grips from the inside and in the trigger guard. The information on my page is more extensive and up-to-date in German. Unfortunately I cannot update the page with the two foreign languages ​​for me. Too much work for me alone.
