Won the bid on GB for a rare 1849 Pocket Pistol on Sunday. It is a six shot pistol with a six inch barrel, and a Hartford, CT. 2 line barrel address. I don't know if it's the holy grail of pocket pistols or not; but, according to "Colt's Variations of the Old Model Pocket Pistol 1848 to 1873" by P.L. Shumaker, this pistol is one of only 1850 that were made. There were approximately 340,000 pocket pistols made between 1848 and 1873. Between 1861 and 1873, approximately 110,000 of the total were made with 6 shot cylinders.
