Pietta 1851 Navy 4-screw

I have posted this one before on this Forum but I felt I needed to put it on the Photo Gallery just for eye candy.

It is a Pietta 1851 Navy 4-screw CFS (cut-for-stock) revolver AZ/1990 that Pietta no longer markets. It has the blondish wood of that era. When I got it it was was a POS insofar as a functioning revolver insofar as timing, et al. I spent much time slightly modifying the bolt side and the hand. Whomever had it previously did a bad job on it. The bolt is different than the newer CNC Pietta parts so that part was not interchangeable with the original and I had to slim the right side bolt face to get it to work. I had to slightly hammer modify the hand to lengthen it so as to rotate the cylinder into firing position properly. These older pre-CNC Piettas used subcontractor parts from various small Northern Italy manufacturers that had many tolerance variances. If you don't want to do the work, stick with Uberti or Pietta CNC guns.

Jim
