Title: Belly Buster
Post by: ShotgunDave on February 18, 2020, 11:35:17 PM
Here's one I made a little while back. It started life as a Pietta .44 Navy. I cut the barrel down to 3" and re-contured the loading lever lug. It's also sporting an Army size grip. After all the cutting, grinding and filing, I re-blued the barrel and installed a brass bead front sight.

Thanks! It was a fun little gun. It belongs to someone else now. I sold it a while back.

I wish you guys would stop posting pictures of neat looking belly guns. I never thought I would like to own one but I have seen a bunch on here that are making me change my mind! :)

Navy Six, go for it! I've made a couple of them now, and they're really fun to shoot.

Shotgun Dave, I have to admit to putting a 12" barrel on a Pietta 44 Navy recently. The gun came with a 71/2" barrel originally. Since I already installed a Kirst 45 conversion cylinder, maybe I should go ahead an fit a snubbie barrel and have a "complete set". By the way, the gun shoots great with that long barrel. Sorry I can't post pictures.

That's a great idea Navy Six! Having a selection of barrels, for whatever job is at hand, is a great plan.
