Title: A Starr
Post by: mazo kid on July 16, 2020, 02:46:28 PM
This is one of my Starr revolvers. As you can see, the grip has been altered. This is in Double Action and is functioning well.

Em,

I have always been somewhat enamored by the Starr DA revolver. From what I have read, they did not work all that well and the SA model fared much better.  I like the altered grip!

Thanks for posting it!

Regards,

Jim

Regardless of how well (or not!) the Starr DA functioned, I find it amazing that you have an original in functioning condition! Any chance we good get some detail photos? (markings, serial numbers, cartouches, etc) Would you ever consider restoring the grip to original configuration? My (Pietta) SA Starr replica is surprisingly comfortable and well-balanced in the hand.

I will try! Not sure about making a new set of grips, that will be hard.

I was thinking maybe a Pietta Starr grip could be altered to fit an original?

That could be a possibility!

I do have a parts breakdown for mine. I can check for P/N if you'd like, Em.
